Regina Manneh named ‘Best Gambian Model 2014’

Runway sensation and rising international model, Regina Manneh, has been named ‘Best Gambian Model 2014’ by the Interface Gambia TV. The award, conferred in the United Kingdom, recognises Manneh’s scores in modeling and her continued push in raising The Gambian flag.

Reacting, she said;

– I would like to thank all my family, friends and fans who took the time to vote, supported and believed in me. And thank you Interface Gambia for the awards of the Best Gambian Model 2014.
It’s a real privilege and pleasure to be able to represent Gambian models around the world.

Raised in Denmark, Sweden, Ivory Coast and lived in Dubai, the UK-based model and Interior Design student speaks English, French, Danish, Swedish and Wolof. Modeling since 2009, Manneh had walked at Los Angeles Fashion Week and Dubai Fashion Week.

In 2013, she was unveiled as the Face of the Africa Fashion Week London after a fierce competition on Facebook, with Nasai Forna and Vanessa Simpson, who respectively consoled themselves with second and third places.

Manneh’s role as Face of Africa Fashion Week London saw her represent the event on all promotional materials and social platforms. She had the opportunity to represent the organisation at major African fashion and entertainment events in the UK and was modeled on the runway at AFWL 2013 in August 2013.

She is part of a popular TV Series called ‘Nakala’, a collection of prominent Gambian celebrity actresses and actors that was premiered on January 2nd, 2015 at the Pencha Mi hall, Paradise Suits Hotel, Gambia. The TV Series, a first of its kind by Gambian actresses and actors, will be aired on Senegalese TFM. The Series talks about love, betrayal and lifestyle and Manneh was one of the actresses in this much-talked about play.
